Record any sound from your mobile phone or recording device in Hong Kong within 60 seconds (in mp3/wav/m4a format within 10MB).

Take one photo at the sound environment. Video is optional.

Fill in the Online Enrollment Form and describe the sound environment.

Sounds you hear in the city

Nature Scenery
Sounds you hear in nature

  • Sound of wild animals (e.g. bird sounds, cicada calling songs etc.)
  • Wind in the trees
  • Waves at the ocean

Cultural Landscape
Sounds you hear from Hong Kong cultural or celebrative activities during festive seasons

  • Sound of a parade in the festive season
  • Sound of playing mahjong
  • and more...
  • Entrants must be Hong Kong residents with a valid Hong Kong permanent identity card.
  • As for Hong Kong residents under the age of 18, endorsement must be granted from parents or guardian.
  • Each entry must fall into one of the themes of “Urban City”, “Nature Scenery” or “Cultural Landscape”.
  • Each entrant can submit only one entry under each theme.
  • All entries must be submitted through the Online Enrollment System at the Competition’s website.

  • Cash prize of HK$10,000

(one for each theme)

The Unique Sound Clip Award

  • Cash prize of HK$2,000

(five for each theme)

The Most Liked Sound Clip Award

  • Cash prize of HK$5,000

(one for each theme)
